Possible Topics for Final Thesis at the ISK

You are welcome to base your thesis on current projects of the "Chair of Contemporary German Language".

In general, you can write (empirical) final theses, Bachelor's or Master's thesis, at the chair on topics from the following areas:

Prof Dr. Christian Efing:

  • Effective support of reading among the literally weak
  • Professional communication: in initial and continuing education and training; currently especially on literacy and basic education
  • Technical language(s), technical communication
  • Intercultural economic communication: especially language in tourism and museum tours
  • Linguistic needs/requirements surveys
  • German and the dominance of English
  • Register competence
  • Socio- and variational linguistics
  • Trends in the development of contemporary language
  • Writing system of the German
  • Intercultural aspects in the Corona discourse

  • Synchronisation in films and movies

Dr. Heiner Apel:

Online Registration for Final Thesis at the ISK

The registration for final examinations - Bachelor's and Master's thesis - at the Institute of Linguistics and Communication Studies is done via a unified online procedure. This online procedure is activated once per semester. The next dates and the link to the registration can be found on the ISK homepage.
